JOB DESCRIPTION


LOCATION: ADDIS ABABA

QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • An advanced university degree (Master’s or Doctorate degree, or equivalent) in social sciences or economics, with a specialization in macroeconomics or financial economics or a related field is required. A first-level degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in the specified fields of studies with two additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

    A PhD in one of the above-listed fields is desirable.
  • A minimum of fifteen years of progressively responsible experience in the field of economic and social development policy analysis and research with a focus on macroeconomics, public finance, monetary policy, financial markets, and debt instruments is required.
  • Experience providing policy advice to member States is desirable.
  • Experience applying relevant econometric approaches and statistical analyses is desirable.
  • Experience working on topics related to African economies is desirable.
